Hello Dear friend,
This is Shailesh, Himanshu & Pranav on behalf on the Gujjuchaps.
First of all let me thank you for your kind support and your eagerness for being helpful to the Gujjus.
Let me take a chance to introduce the Gujjuchaps in brief.
Gujjuchaps was started on Aug 3, 2002, by Himanshu, with the intention to help the Gujju IT professional for the better career prospects. We got the tremendous response, and soon the small group has become quite a large community. Currently there are around 2800 membrs (and number is still increasing day by day), willing to help each other when ever possible. At the same time a sister group of GujjuChaps, named Gujjutechies was formed which is solely targetting the technical aspects, and as a result, on 9th November,2002 GujjuTechies was born. You are becoming part of the family today.
WE HEARTILY WELCOME YOU TO THE SMALL (<UPDATE>its no more small now. we are crossing member count of 7000</UPDATE>) WORLD OF OUR IT GUJJUS.
In order to serve the group in a more profound way, There are certain guidelines we are following. Please take note of them.
We wish you a very successfull journey together on the road ahead.
Mail sent to group on Apr 25 2005:
First of all I apologize for sending this nasty mails to everybody. But it seems that it was a high time that members are warned.
Do you know that all those members forwarding job are NOT consultants? Most of the members are like you and me working some where.
They are trying to help you !! and in return you flood their inbox with your resumes????
Come on guys, you can be smarter then that. Just read the mails completely and find out where you should send your CV. If you send your cv to job poster, he will just curse you and delete your CV. Thats the end. (He/She might think twice before forwarding next job to the group. Do you want that????)
So far it was moderators who were getting bunch of CV. We were initially politely replying all, but 15 CVs a day was too much, and now we are simply deleting all the resumes we are getting. Do you understand, that your stupidy is changing the mind set of people who are trying to help you??? DONT DO THAT. PLEASE.
Our guys are stupid not to send the CV to the right person, but smart enough to find the way to harras the people who is helping them. This particularly is happening with our female contributors. I have started to recieve the complains that they are getting emails/yahoo/msn IM from the people trying to contact them for "FRIENDSHIP". Come on guys, if you guys dont care about your impression, that is fine, but dont ruin the impression of gujjuchaps' 7000 members.
If I recieve any complains for anybody, I will not hesitate to ban/remove the person from the group and I will announce the name/id of the person and reason to ban that person. I do not care about his/her impression. I hope I have made my self very clear.
My apologies to those who has nothing to do with this sort of stupidity but I have no way to filter you guys.
-Do not ATTACH the document with the mail. Yahoogroups was no more saving the attachments with the mail in archieves. Please use inline forwarding ONLY.
If you will ATTACH your document/contents then no body will be able to view it/recieve it. So please be careful.
-Post a Job, when ever and where ever you come to know about one. This will help so many of our people, member of our small cyber family.
-The group should strictly service the JOB Posting mails and others should be honestly protected by all individuals even though the mails and metters are on Technologies, Market statistics etc.
(For such issues we already have the "GujjuTechies" which we can avail for the other technical metters.)
-NEVER NEVER reply to group, unless you feel it is necessary.
-DONT start private conversation on group it self. We have taken this issue very seriously, as it waste so much of time, energy (and bandwidth too) of so many of our members, who dont have anything to do with those private conversations.
-DONT circulate Appreciation mails to ALL except the Major events OR achivements. If any one needs to be praised, the mail should individually go to him rather to the whole group.
-New members, Please do not post the introductory mail to the group. We have created a members database. You can put your details there. You can add your contact details at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gujjuchaps/database?method=addRecord&tbl=1
-DO NOT post your resume to the group.
-If you are not accessing your mailbox regularly, I suggest you to change your subscription to daily digest, or no mails, as per your preference, so that the incoming mails do not flood your mail box.
-If any mail in the group is missing something OR some sort of clarification is required then the concerned member'll write to only the person from whom the mail is posted AND the mail poster would decide whether the query to be answered to the whole group OR to the only one who pointed out that.
-Please do not misuse the email addresses of our members.
-New members, Please dont post your queries to group. You can post your questions and/or doubts to the moderators. Feel free to contact us on our personal emails, any time.
